A3 Highway, Croatia

The A3 road in Croatia is one of the top haunted roads globally. Part of the road between Staro Petrovo Selo and Nova Gradiska is said to be haunted. There have been many accidents including celebrities, causing over 50 deaths. Many other drivers have hallucinated and experienced unexplainable encounters.

Dark Hedges, Northern Ireland

Hit television series Game of Thrones has given fame to this quiet road near the town of Ballymoney in Northern Ireland. It is a popular attraction for tourists as it is a fascinating avenue of beech trees, framing the dusty road ahead like an eery red carpet. It also featured in the 2017 Transformers film. It is claimed that this road is haunted by a ‘Grey Lady.’ Remember to bring your camera if you visit this one!

Fly in to Belfast then take your hire car on a scary drive!

The Devil’s Highway, Manchester

The A666 has been nicknamed ‘The Devil’s Highway’ because of multiple sightings and accidents caused by a hunched-over ghost limping along the side of it. In 2015, dashcam footage filmed of the A666 showed a white figure appear near a terrified driver and their passenger.

Collect your hire car from Manchester airport then prepare to be scared!

The Ghost Road, Scotland

The fifteen-mile A75 from Anna to Dumfries has created several reports to 999 from callers terrified by an old man, crossing the road and disappearing. Many drivers have spotted the man and when they get out of the car, he is no longer seen.

Belchen Tunnel, Switzerland

Between Basel and Chiasso, sits the A2 motorway in Switzerland and Belchen Tunnel. Rumour has it that this 24-year-old tunnel is haunted by an old lady hitchhiker known as the White Lady. Some drivers have reported that she has spoken to them, others say that she gets in their car on the motorway and disappears while in the tunnel.

We hope that this has inspired you to get in your car and visit some of the most haunted highways in Europe.
